DEPARTMENTLAB ADMINISTRATION
SCHEDULEFull Time, 8 HR Day Shift
POSITION SUMMARYThe Director plans, directs, and supervises all technical and administrative aspects of SGMC Laboratory Services and all SGMC Facility Laboratories for inpatient and outpatient services. Responsible for integrating Laboratory systems and centralizing procedures to ensure profitability and proficient productivity. Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates all Laboratory personnel. Ensures that all department procedures are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures. Maintains communication between the laboratory, administration, and other departments.
Maintains Laboratory regulatory/accreditation standards.
- BS Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent, certification as MT(ASCP), or MT(AMT) and 5-7 years direct management experience in a hospital laboratory setting required.
- MBA, MPA, MHA preferred.
- Strong personnel management, communication, and public relations skills essential.
- Must possess a valid and current Georgia driver’s license.
Modern hospital Laboratory. Work activities will include: light lifting (not to exceed 25 pounds), walking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting and pushing objects. Must be able to operate office equipment, computer terminals and keyboards, and computerized lab equipment.
