Job SummaryPerforms individual, group, and crisis intervention counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, and academic difficulties. Makes appropriate referrals for services and coordinates counseling policies and procedures. This is a Grant Funded / Limited Term position.
Responsibilities- Provides individual and group counseling services to students.
- Performs crisis intervention services as needed both during and after hours.
- Develops and plans programming that strengthens students’ holistic well‑being.
- Assists in campus mental‑health training and outreach to various communities.
- Provides consultation and referral services.
- Maintains accurate documentation and case files.
- Supports student retention and engagement activities with the Student Success team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or related field.
- Licensed in Georgia as a Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker, or Psychologist.
- One year of related work experience.
- Previous experience working with students or college‑aged adults.

- Maintain and organize records and reports.
- Plan, market, implement, and evaluate relevant student programming.
- Develop effective counseling relationships and manage therapy processes.
- Communicate orally and in writing.
- Travel to provide counseling to other campuses.
- Respond to emergency situations promptly.
- Make decisions in accordance with departmental and institutional policies.
- Establish effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, and the public.
- Knowledge of current counseling practices and professional ethical standards.
The position may require traveling up to 49% of the time to other campus locations.
