Position SummaryThe HR Specialist for Compliance is an integral part of the Human Resources Operations Team, working to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws and internal policies. Under the direction of the HR Operations Manager, the specialist audits all aspects of employment—including HRIS data, payroll and compensation, benefits administration, hiring and onboarding practices, and internal policies—to mitigate risk and protect employee and organizational welfare.
The specialist also monitors regulatory compliance under the guidelines of various state and federal agencies.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
ExperienceAt least 1 year of prior experience in Human Resources required.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to develop and articulate recommendations.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism, including maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to quickly learn HRIS and related systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, changing environment, including making decisions under pressure.
Substantial sitting and walking. Moderate standing. Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds). May be subject to high levels of stress, managing competing priorities, and peaks and valleys in workload. Requires considerable mental effort and logical thought processing. Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
