We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Materials Manager to oversee the planning, procurement, inventory control, and movement of materials throughout our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring material availability to support production schedules while optimizing inventory levels, reducing costs, and improving overall supply chain performance.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience in a manufacturing environment, and a proven ability to collaborate across multiple departments to achieve operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage material planning, inventory control, receiving, warehousing, and material movement activities.
  • Develop and maintain inventory strategies that support production requirements while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production, operations, and suppliers to ensure timely material availability.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Analyze material requirements and production forecasts to ensure adequate supply levels.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory turns, material flow, and overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory, service levels, and material availability.
  • Manage and develop materials management personnel through effective leadership, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Support ERP/MRP system utilization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, inventory control, supply chain management, or production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, MRP/ERP systems, and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) is a plus.
