We also have an on-site Optical Shop that carries the latest in designer frames and sunglasses. We offer several locations including Valdosta, Tifton, Douglas, and Madison.
OverviewWe are now hiring an Operating Room Nurse. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to support the clinic’s goals of providing each patient with a positive experience while receiving quality comprehensive eye care from the providers.
Responsibilities- Provides ongoing assessment and nursing care to patients in the facility in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, and processes within the scope of practice.
- Collaborates with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
- Directly and indirectly provides safe, professional nursing care of patients in the operating room.
- Continuously evaluates and documents all components of care delivered to patients within the perioperative and outpatient environment using the nursing process.
- Follows and completes assignments as given by the Clinical Director and Providers.
- Collaborates with appropriate disciplines to develop coordinated outcomes and interventions.
- Circulates surgical procedures for various surgeons who operate at the facility.
- Maintains a safe patient care environment and ensures operating rooms are clean, safe, and sanitary.
- Prepares the surgery suite for surgical procedures.
- Follows established universal precautions in the use of PPE.
- Individualizes patient care according to health status and the specific surgery/procedure being performed.
- Operates equipment and performs technical skills according to policies and standards.
- Recognizes situations and significant assessment findings that require verbal or written communication to the appropriate people.
- Monitors surgery inventory and notifies appropriate personnel when supplies are needed.
- Participates in identifying and developing performance improvement focus and criteria in alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and core values.
- Observes facility policies, procedures, and processes.
- Conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner in support of the organization’s commitment to ethical behavior.
- Demonstrates primary nurse accountability through coordination, communication, and continuity of patient care.
- Assesses, prioritizes, plans, and implements direct patient care.
- Assumes responsibility for competency of practice and pursues professional development and continuing education.
- Maintains working knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center settings including direct patient care.
- Adheres to work schedule and manages time effectively.
- Utilizes resources in a timely, organized, and cost-effective manner.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment.
- High school graduate or GED certificate.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Active RN license in the state where work will be conducted.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Current surgical experience (within the past 3 years).
- Ability to make sound nursing judgments based on nursing theory.
- Demonstrates primary nurse accountability through coordination, communication, and continuity of patient care.
- Ability to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement direct patient care.
- Willingness to pursue ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Working knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center settings including direct patient care.
- Ability to adhere to the work schedule and manage time appropriately.
- Ability to utilize resources in a timely, organized, and cost-effective manner.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment.
