Recovery Room PACU

PRN, Varied Hours/Shift

Under the direction of the charge nurse, the PACU Staff Nurse provides nursing care for the PACU patient according to established standards of care, guidelines, and hospital policy and procedure. The role requires knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.

• Current nursing licensure in Georgia
• PACU/Critical Care experience preferred
• CPR required. ACLS & PALS required within one year.
• CPAN preferred
• Ability to understand and adhere to job responsibilities/limitations
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
• Ability to read, interpret and report pertinent data
• Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
• Ability to interact diplomatically with patients, families and health care team members

• Regularly required to walk, reach, and stretch with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects and control knobs of equipment and/or instruments.
• Frequently required to stand for long periods of time; climb or balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk or hear; and smell.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 50 pounds.
• Visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
