SGMC Health is looking for a registered nurse to provide patient care within the Hemodialysis department. The role supports the unit’s mission by ensuring high-quality, compassionate care for patients of all ages.

ScheduleFull‑time, 12‑hour day shift (06:45‑19:15) with on‑call calls.
Position Summary- Provides patient care through assessment and the implementation of the nursing process for all age groups on the unit.
- Performs and assists with dialysis procedures.
- Documents care provided.
- Coordinates patient’s plan of care with physicians and other disciplines.
- Maintains an atmosphere that consistently supports SGMC Health’s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, goals, policies, and standards.
- Current RN license in the state of Georgia.
- CPR certification required.
- One year of experience in a related specialty area preferred.
- Accesses patients’ AV fistula or catheter for dialysis treatments.
- Ability to work well both individually and as a team leader or member.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and adapt to new situations, think critically, manage priorities, and utilize problem‑solving techniques.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, standards, and guidelines to patient care.
- Effective communication with a diverse patient population of all ages and cultures, including patients exhibiting stressed behaviors.
- Proficiency in operating clinical equipment, computers, telecommunication devices, and patient information systems.
Work is primarily performed in a hospital or clinic setting. The role requires significant standing, mental effort, stooping, bending, and lifting in excess of fifty pounds, as well as pushing carts, beds, and wheelchairs. It may involve exposure to blood and body fluids, including infectious diseases, and occasional assistance with patient transport to another facility. Physical functional capacity is expected to be very heavy as defined by the Saunders Method.
