Are you passionate about mental health and looking for a meaningful career where you can make a real impact? Legacy Behavioral Health is seeking an RN Intake Coordinator to join our team. The Intake Nurse Coordinator (RN) is tasked with providing safe and quality treatment to all patients, as well as assisting psychiatric and medical management teams to ensure the safe, effective, and productive treatment of patients.

They are responsible for mentoring employees and teaching relevant skills on an as-needed basis. Communication skills are important in this position to work well with employees, patients, and families of patients. They should have general knowledge of medical software applications and business-oriented office software applications, and they must be able to work independently and troubleshoot problems. They should also be able to multi-task and work well under pressure, coordinating with providers for admission and discharging of patients.

Perform and/or coordinate nursing assessments in triage to assist in developing patient care plans and assist with discharging patients. Educate patients and families on procedures, treatment options, and symptom management.

The RN Intake Coordinator will be supervised by the Nurse Manager.

Requirements:

  • Must have a current Georgia RN license.
  • BSN preferred.
  • 2 years minimum experience in psychiatric nursing, preferred.
  • Must be CPR and First Aid certified or to obtain certification. Must be physically able to perform CPR.
  • Must be proficient in verbal and written communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
  • Must be able to identify and report any adverse side effects of medication to the physician.
  • Must have excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
  • Individuals in this position must be able to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Working Conditions:

Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in LBHS or personal vehicle.

Work Environment:
Employees in this position may be exposed to potential health hazards in the work environment. Incumbents may be required to work extended periods of time at computer terminals. They may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric and/or deceased patients.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception (may be corrected with glasses or contact lenses).
