Packer Handler - D1

Job Description

Day shift: 6:45am – 7pm with every other weekend off. The primary responsibility of the Molding Packer is to inspect the product for defects and pack quality product according to work instructions.

• Ensure safety of self and co‑workers.
• Visually inspect product and identify non‑conformities.
• Pack quality product into boxes according to customer specifications and Berry quality guidelines.
• Immediately place non‑conforming product into scrap bins.
• Read travelers and compare labels for accuracy.
• Prepare packaging in accordance with traveler instructions.
• Perform repetitive motion work with hands.
• Communicate questions regarding quality with necessary personnel.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station.
• Read the traveler and complete paperwork.
• Pack lids or containers from any assigned machine.
• Know which supplies are needed each day and where to get them.
• Report safety concerns or problems to the Group Leader.
• Notify management of any actual or potential food safety issues.
• Resolve food safety issues within scope of work.
• Make boxes as necessary.

• Ability to walk or stand for 12 hours per day.
• Work near moving mechanical parts.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, ear plugs, bump caps, beard/hair nets, steel‑toed shoes. Additional PPE may be needed for various tasks.
