Description
Under the direction of the Biomedical Director, the Biomedical Supervisor ensures biomedical devices meet regulatory requirements and quality standards, leads and provides day‑to‑day guidance to a team of biomedical technicians, and collaborates with the team to maintain accurate records of equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, recalls and inspections. The Supervisor communicates effectively with clinical staff to resolve operational issues, ensures planned maintenance on medical equipment in accordance with established guidelines, monitors and escalates equipment issues, manages the service request calls and tickets process from scheduling through completion, and conducts inventory inspections and requests necessary parts, supplies, and instruments for team use.

EducationAn associate’s degree in biomedical electronics, electronic technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent related experience or relevant military training may be substituted.
Experience5 to 7 years of experience performing medical equipment maintenance is required. Experience leading a team is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesActive Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) Certification is preferred. Proficiency in using hand tools and field‑specific test equipment. Understanding of relevant regulations related to the Biomedical and Health Care industries. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Self‑starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to read schematics/drawings.
WorkingConditions
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Requires physical abilities such as walking, sitting, stooping, bending and standing. This position may require working weekends and nights and will require travel between campuses and clinic locations. A valid Driver’s License for the state of Georgia is required.
