Dispatcher - University Police

Job Summary

Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service and dispatch appropriate personnel. Operate the Georgia Crime Information Center computerized database to enter and retrieve data.

• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls for service and dispatch appropriate personnel. Enter call data into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. (50%)
• Respond to alarms, including security and weather alerts, by dispatching and notifying appropriate personnel. Monitor security cameras and report suspicious activities. (15%)
• Prepare a variety of regular and special reports, including daily logs of calls received and dispatched. Maintain files and records. (15%)
• Operate the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) database to enter and retrieve data and to conduct background, criminal record, and vehicle searches. (15%)
• Contact external law enforcement, fire, and other emergency response agencies as needed. (5%)

• High school diploma and one (1) year of related work experience.
