Overview
Elite Construction, Inc is seeking an experienced Field Service Millwright to join our growing team for upcoming travel jobs out of town. This temporary shutdown position may evolve into a full‑time role. The successful candidate will travel to Valdosta, Georgia for the initial hire and then work on-site working plant machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Install and assemble new industrial machinery—including conveyors, turbines, and generators—according to blueprints and technical drawings.
- Perform precision alignment using laser trackers, dial indicators, and micrometers to meet tight tolerances.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts to move, position, or dismantle heavy equipment safely.
- Use machining tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate or repair machine parts on‑site.
- Adapt to changing environments and work schedules, often exceeding 60 hours per week and including nights.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and promote best manufacturing practices.
- Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase the size of metal components as needed.
- Install modifications to equipment or structures and clamp components for subsequent welding.
- Assist in maintaining and repairing fixed equipment such as pumps, seals, blowers, and specialty chemical plant processing units.
- Effectively troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, and repair industrial machinery to improve reliability and uptime.
- Maintain and operate own measuring and common hand tools.
- Minimum 2 years of documented field experience in vertical mills, lathes, or comparable machinery.
- Strong mechanical background with knowledge of machine repair, hydraulic systems, and the ability to fabricate from prints.
- Proficiency in machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast aluminum, and cast iron.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, and layout plans independently.
- Vehicle ownership and valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and a drug screen.
- Willingness to travel out of town for extended periods (up to three weeks at a time) and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety guidelines.
- Good communication and safety‑first mindset.
- Hourly pay range: $26.00 – $30.00, dependent on experience.
- Includes daily per diem, lodging, and lunch when traveling.
- Work will be primarily based in Valdosta, Georgia.
