Job SummaryPerform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across campus facilities. Ensure reliable, efficient, and code-compliant operation of HVAC systems and associated mechanical and control components.

Typical Allocation of Duties:
Perform HVAC Installation, Maintenance, and Repairs - 45
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems including air handling units, split systems, chillers, boilers, ventilation systems, and associated mechanical components. Diagnose system issues and implement corrective actions to restore functionality.
- Respond to Service Requests - 20
- Respond to work orders and service calls related to HVAC systems. Assess issues, determine appropriate repairs, and complete work in a timely and effective manner to minimize disruption to campus operations.
Perform Preventative Maintenance - 15
- Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and equipment in accordance with established schedules, manufacturer recommendations, and institutional standards to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment life.
Inspect Systems and Identify Issues - 10
- Inspect HVAC systems and components to identify inefficiencies, malfunctions, or potential failures. Monitor system performance and recommend corrective or improvement actions.
Maintain Tools, Equipment, and Work Areas - 10
- Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and work areas in proper working condition. Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and institutional policies.
Required Experience
High school diploma and three (3) years of related work experience. Must possess or obtain EPA Section 608 Certification within six (6) months of hire. An Associate's degree or advanced licensure in a relevant trade may be substituted for three years of required work experience.
$25.97/hr ($54,020/annual)
