Preventative Maintenance Technician

As a Preventative Maintenance Technician, you'll perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Walmart equipment-including trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop/service vehicles-while following company and DOT guidelines. What You'll Do
- Perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles)
- Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, and select repair solutions
- Repair/replace brake components, wheel seals, and tractor-trailer tires per DOT requirements
- Communicate updates and complete required logs, records, and computer-based documentation
- Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/prepare fuel samples and paperwork
What You'll Bring
- Experience performing preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on trailers/tractors or similar heavy equipment
- Working knowledge of brake systems (air/ABS/disc) and tire service (dismount/install)
- Ability to follow DOT guidelines and shop safety procedures consistently
- Skill in diagnosing needs, selecting parts, and documenting work accurately in work orders/logs
- Comfort communicating status and repair details verbally and in writing
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25
- Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19
