Shipping & Receiving Handler is responsible for leading daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material movement activities to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient flow of materials to, from and throughout the facility. The Shipping and Receiving Building Manager will oversee the Warehouse Production Facility, load dock and loading dock team. Ensuring that all outbound orders are on the trucks in a timely manner, securely, efficiently and with the appropriate products.
The successful candidate should be a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.
This full-time position requires 2 years of shipping and receiving as well as material handling/forklift experience. Must be able to operate a forklift. You must have a valid driver's license. You must be drug free to apply for this position.
Job Duties- Operations Management:
Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping. - Daily Scheduling of trucking via 3rd party logistics (i.e. logistics brokers).
- Inventory Control:
Maintain high inventory accuracy through rigorous cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation. - Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate warehouse staff; handle performance management and foster a collaborative team environment. - Safety & Compliance:
Enforce workplace safety regulations and ensure all staff adhere to company and OSHA guidelines. - Process Optimization:
Monitor and report on operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve efficiency and reduce labor costs. - Maintenance and accountability for the receiving log and all processes involved.
- Scanning and sorting of job tickets.
- Provides backup to loading dock team, stepping in when needed.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Warehouse/Logistics Management.
- Data Entry experience.
- Customer Service Skills.
- Basic Math skills / use of measuring tape.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Attention to details a must.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
- Embrace problems with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure with abrupt changes.
- Flexibility to work late hours as needed depending on seasonal workload.
- Professional communication is required.
- Knowledge of forklift operation and safety preferred but not necessary.
- Promote great team motivation, positive attitudes, and morale.
- Knowledge of trailers and ability to move them properly; training will be provided if necessary.
- Certified forklift operator; training will be provided if necessary.
- 2 to 3 years of shipping and receiving and material handling/forklift experience required.
- Possess a liking of basic math skills and working knowledge of part numbers and products.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize all responsibilities.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass drug and background screening.
