Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) seeks a Development Assistant to support fundraising that advances services for individuals with disabilities in the Hudson Valley. In this role, you will maintain donor and gift records, process donations, prepare timely acknowledgements, and help generate reports. You will assist with special events, appeals, and donor communications, coordinating logistics and materials. The position also supports grant tracking, scheduling, and general administrative tasks for the development team in a collaborative, mission-driven, and inclusive environment with opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate donor and gift records in the CRM, ensuring data integrity and timely updates.
- Process donations, generate tax receipts, and prepare personalized acknowledgement letters and emails.
- Support planning and execution of fundraising events, including logistics, registrations, and onsite coordination.
- Assist with annual appeals, donor outreach, and preparation of mailing lists and materials.
- Generate basic development reports and lists to support campaigns, stewardship, and leadership requests.
- Track grant deadlines, submissions, and reports; organize files and supporting documents.
- Provide administrative support to the development team, including scheduling, minutes, and correspondence.
- Coordinate with communications staff on donor-facing content for newsletters, social media, and event collateral.
- Help monitor budgets for events and campaigns, process invoices, and reconcile expenses.
- Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven culture centered on inclusion and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
