Job Description

The Computer Information Technologies Department seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor position to teach a range of courses in Cybersecurity and Computer Information Systems. The position requires teaching 15 contact hours plus a minimum of five office hours per week. In addition, the instructor is responsible for updating and developing courses, curricula, and assessment methods; providing academic and career advisement to students;

providing work assignments to hourly employees; assisting in the maintenance and upgrade of Cybersecurity labs; and aiding curriculum marketing and recruitment efforts. The instructor is expected to participate in departmental, school and college-wide committees, initiatives and events, and to keep abreast of technological, industry, and higher education trends affecting the curriculum, including participating in professional development activities and acquiring and maintaining industry certifications.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a closely related field required. One year of teaching experience also required.

All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Three years of industry-related experience and one year of college-level teaching experience strongly preferred. Industry-recognized IT/Cybersecurity certifications also preferred.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2026

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $75,170. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximize at a salary of $88,234. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, a choice of defined benefit and/or defined contribution pension plan, generous leave benefits, and access to tax sheltered annuities and a deferred compensation plan.
