Job Summary:

As the Trauma Program Manager for our Level 1 Trauma Program, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of trauma care delivery. This role demands a leader with a strong clinical background, exceptional managerial skills and a passion for delivering high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for the enhancement and growth of the trauma program in alignment with organizational goals and standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the trauma care team, ensuring collaboration, effective communication and adherence to best practices in trauma care.
  • Drive initiatives to maintain and improve the quality of trauma care services, regularly evaluating protocols, procedures and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies, including but not limited to state, federal and accreditation agency requirements.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources, including staffing, equipment and supplies, to support efficient and effective trauma care delivery.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in trauma care.
  • Foster collaborations with other departments, healthcare providers, community organizations and stakeholders to optimize patient care and outcomes.
  • Analyze data related to trauma care, identifying trends, areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Serve as an advocate for trauma patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met and promoting a patient‑centered care approach.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:

A minimum of six (6) years of professional clinical experience, including three (3) years at a supervisory level, is required.

Education:

A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred as an advanced practice provider. Graduate from either an accredited school of nursing, an accredited nurse practitioner program, or an accredited physician assistant program.

Licenses/Certifications:

Current New York State Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or MD license; current BLS and ACLS certification.

Special Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of quality care protocols, improvement methodologies and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team effectively.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and utilization of data to drive quality improvement initiatives.
  • The ability to develop and execute strategic plans for program development and enhancement.
