Job Summary

Will perform reception duties for the administration building and support campus‑wide mail distribution. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, answering phones, distributing department mail, posting outgoing mail, and assisting with various projects and tasks within HR. The position also provides a student with knowledge and experience in Human Resources.

Job Duties
  • Provide front desk reception services for Human Resources. Direct staff, faculty, students, or visitors to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Answer phones, transfer calls, and check voicemail/reception email messages daily.
  • File and/or shred materials.
  • Photocopy, sort, and collate materials.
  • Distribute outgoing and incoming mail from multiple shipping services to the appropriate department or personnel.
  • Perform basic typing and data entry.
  • Process incoming/outgoing mail and faxes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Typing and keyboarding skills and the ability to use standard office equipment.
  • Ability to use standard word processing and data collection computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Punctuality.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Personable and friendly demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications

A student worker is exempt from the requirement for a background check, unless being considered for a position in which a background check is required by law or accessing Level I data, per the CSU Information Security policy (i.e., ICUAM 8030).

Satisfactory completion of a background check is required for employment.
