Vallejo City USD In-Person Tutor '25-'26

Hey Tutor has partnered with a school district in Vallejo and we are looking to hire tutors who can assist TK-8th grade students during and after regular school hours.

As a tutor you will actively supervise students and help them catch up from learning gaps developed over the past school year.

You must be comfortable passing an in‑person background check.

Job Duties:

• Work with groups of students without the support of a teacher or school staff.
• Prepare the room and start tutoring sessions.
• Pick up and drop off students from designated areas in the school site as needed.
• Take attendance and run lessons through the Hey Tutor Dashboard (if applicable).
• Document student progress with the Hey Tutor Dashboard.
• Facilitate baseline and summative assessments when requested by a manager.
• Lead a group of students in tutoring sessions using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging that students want to be in.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
• Engage and interact with tutoring lessons alongside the students.
• Clock in and out of Deputy for shifts daily.
• Perform any other duties that may be required by the company, your manager, or the school site.

Pay: $25‑$30/hr

Pay depends on education and experience and will be determined at the time of the interview.

Schedule:

24 tutors needed during and after school.

Requirements:

• Must have completed an AA or higher, or be currently enrolled in college or university.
• Tutoring experience (great at working with kids).
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Clear FBI‑DOJ background check.
• Bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish to assist bilingual students is preferred.
