Position Overview
Engineering Technology – Part‑Time Lecturer Pool (Solano Campus). The Engineering Technology Department at California Polytechnic State University, Maritime Academy (Cal Poly Maritime), is seeking part‑time lecturer positions for the 2026‑2027 academic year. Appointments are made from a pool of accepted applicants and are contingent on funding. Applicants must be available on short notice.
Responsibilities- Teach engineering technology and engineering plant operations courses.
- B.S. in Marine Engineering Technology, Facilities Engineering Technology, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to student‑centered learning and teaching.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.
- Graduate degree in a related engineering discipline.
- Teaching and/or industrial experience.
- Applicants with extensive industry experience, USCG licensures, and/or maritime experience are encouraged.
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
- Following an offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before work can begin. Failure to complete the check may result in withdrawal of the offer.
