Director of Clinical Education Assessment and Outcomes

Overview

The Director of Clinical Education Assessment and Outcomes provides faculty leadership in the design, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of the clinical education program. The position supports accreditation, educational assessment, curriculum evaluation, student performance monitoring, faculty development, and data-driven quality improvement initiatives. Working collaboratively with Academic Affairs, Clinical Education leadership, faculty, and affiliated clinical sites, the Director promotes educational excellence and continuous program improvement.

Clinical Education Assessment

• Lead assessment activities related to the clinical curriculum and student performance.
• Monitor student progression through clinical rotations and evaluate clinical education outcomes.
• Analyze post-rotation assessments, evaluations, and competency achievement.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and outcome measures to support educational decision-making.
• Identify trends and recommend improvements to enhance student success.

Accreditation & Quality Improvement

• Support institutional and programmatic accreditation through data collection, analysis, documentation, and reporting.
• Develop assessment tools and outcome measures that demonstrate compliance with accreditation standards.
• Prepare annual program assessment reports and quality improvement recommendations.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives across the clinical education program.

Curriculum Evaluation

• Evaluate clinical curriculum effectiveness using student performance data and outcome metrics.
• Collaborate with faculty to improve assessment methods and educational effectiveness.
• Support curriculum committees and educational assessment initiatives.
• Assist in developing competency-based assessment strategies.

Clinical Education Operations

• Oversee student clinical performance evaluations and post-rotation assessments.
• Maintain databases supporting clinical schedules, evaluations, grades, competencies, and required documentation.
• Assist with approval processes for research and international rotations.
• Track student progression toward graduation requirements in collaboration with Academic Affairs and the Registrar.

Faculty & Clinical Site Support

• Support faculty development related to assessment, evaluation, and clinical teaching.
• Prepare annual reports summarizing student performance and clinical site outcomes.
• Assist in evaluating affiliated clinical sites using assessment data and student feedback.
• Recommend quality improvement initiatives for affiliated clinical training programs.

Student Success

• Participate in academic advising and student support initiatives.
• Identify students experiencing academic difficulty using performance data.
• Collaborate with faculty and clinical education leadership to develop intervention and remediation strategies.
• Support student readiness for graduate medical education.

• Master's degree required with a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education; doctorate (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience in higher education, medical education, health professions education, assessment, curriculum evaluation, or accreditation.
• Experience with educational assessment methodologies and data analysis.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards and continuous quality improvement processes.
• Strong analytical, project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with educational databases, reporting tools, and assessment software.
