The Communications unit within Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo is seeking a student photographer at the Solano campus who can capture Learn by Doing in action, cover events and create compelling images in support of departments and programs within the division of Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Cal Poly Maritime Academy.

This position will be paid per assignment at a rate of $17 per hour, including processing time.

• Capture stock photography, portraits, events, campus life and other images as assigned for Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success departments.
• Edit the images and add captions and keywords to their images.
• Upload images them to Photo Shelter, the photo gallery maintained by University Communications and Marketing.
• Complete all tasks assigned in an accurate, prompt and thorough manner.
• Be on time for work and work hours as scheduled.
• Make effective use of work time and work successfully in an open office environment.
• Present a positive image of the division of Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success through conduct and appearance.
• Refer problems or potential problems to a supervisor.

• Be responsive to emails seeking availability for photos assignments. Assignments may be available during the day and evening hours.
• Be efficient in turning around assignments quickly after photographing them.
• Be able to communicate and interact positively and effectively with staff and students.
• Have a working knowledge of photographic equipment and techniques.
• Have a working knowledge of Photoshop and photo processing techniques.
• Possess sound judgment and strong organizational skills.
• Possess the ability to manage time, work independently and find creative solutions.
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3.
• Maintain good disciplinary standing with the University.
• Maintain enrollment in the minimum number of units required by university policy (6 units/quarter).
