Overview

The Clinical Coordinator for the AAS in Radiologic Technology Program will play a vital role in the coordination, administration, and continuous improvement of clinical education experiences for students. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining clinical affiliations, overseeing student placements, and ensuring that clinical education aligns with the program’s curriculum, accreditation standards, and healthcare industry requirements. This position directly supports the Program Director and serves as a key liaison between the educational and clinical environments, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice and education are met.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the clinical education components of the Radiologic Technology Program, ensuring students receive high-quality clinical experiences that meet accreditation standards and program objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clinical affiliates, securing and expanding clinical sites for student placements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the program and clinical sites, addressing issues, ensuring seamless communication, and fostering strong professional relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) standards, particularly in relation to clinical education and student supervision.
  • Collaborate with clinical site supervisors and preceptors to ensure student performance is evaluated consistently and that students meet required clinical competencies.
  • Develop clinical schedules, coordinate clinical rotations, and ensure students have appropriate clinical exposure throughout the program.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in clinical settings, providing guidance, support, and feedback as needed.
  • Participate in the development and revision of clinical education materials, ensuring they align with program goals and accreditation standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to clinical affiliates to assess site quality, compliance, and student performance.
  • Support the Program Director in preparing for accreditation reviews and maintaining accreditation documentation, specifically related to clinical education.
  • Provide input on curriculum development as it pertains to clinical training, ensuring alignment between didactic and clinical instruction.
  • Organize clinical orientation sessions and training workshops for students and clinical site staff.
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of clinical preceptors and affiliated faculty.
  • Participate in department meetings, faculty development, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with trends and advancements in radiologic technology and clinical education.

Qualifications

· A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.

· Current certification in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

· A minimum of two years of full-time professional experience as a radiologic technologist, including recent experience in clinical education.

· At least one year of full-time experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited radiography program.

· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clinical affiliates, faculty, and students.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple clinical sites and student placements effectively.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

· A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with radiologic technology practices and education trends.

· Knowledge of JRCERT accreditation standards and the ability to ensure program compliance with clinical education requirements.

· State certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
