Job Description
Technician to work on rail electrical and electro-mechanical installations, execute test procedures, generate test reports, make adjustments on systems and troubleshoot rail vehicles and/or its subsystems. Generate/Track progress reports to management.
Responsibilities- Perform mechanical installations and repairs on rail vehicles at an acceptable level of quality and within agreed method times as directed by Supervisor.
- Demonstrate good working knowledge and experience with the use of hand and power tools, welding machines, measuring devices and pneumatic/hydraulic gauges.
- Read and comprehend a wide range of mechanical drawings and work instructions.
- Understand the purpose of the Bill of Material (BOM) and how it relates to material picking lists and operations list.
- Identify and record information such as part numbers and serial numbers.
- Perform and generate reports on all routine tests and testing activities.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing & component problems to the lowest Line Replaceable Unit (LRU), and support during qualification tests.
- Execute tests according to test procedures and schematics.
- Redline test procedures as required.
- Use computers, data recorders, digital millimeters, various measurement instruments, pneumatic/hydraulic gauges.
- Read and understand schematics and wire lists.
- Document and report any anomaly or failure during test execution.
- Learn and optimize the test execution and troubleshooting.
- Have strong knowledge and comprehension of schematics, block diagrams, wire lists, functional diagrams, and basic electronics, including operation of 12
VDC-72
VDC and 24
VAC-480
VAC systems. - Support mechanical installations and repairs on rail vehicles as directed by Supervisor.
- Support installation and termination of electrical panels, equipment, components, and understand how they operate to troubleshoot any electrical issues.
- Perform configuration management.
