Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to patients in a psychiatric intensive care unit, ensuring safety and therapeutic support. This role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented RN committed to mental health treatment and patient well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Administer psychiatric and medical care to acute mental health patients
• Monitor patient behavior and respond appropriately to crisis situations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document patient progress, treatment, and interventions accurately
• Maintain a safe environment and adhere to facility protocols and safety standards
• Ensure compliance with all licensing, certification, and facility policies

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in the state
• At least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience within the last 3 months
• BLS certification; CPI certification preferred (attainable on site)
• Strong assessment and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to work evening shifts and flexible schedules, including every other weekend
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
