Job Description:
Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking an Interim Nurse Supervisor, Home Health Call Center for a Remote W2 Contract position based in Vallejo, California.
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM
Assignment Duration:13 Weeks with high likelihood of extending
Location:Remote eligible; candidates must reside in Vallejo, CA.
Weekly compensation (based on completion of a 40-hour work week):Between $3,209 – $3,858 (all-in), with flexibility in how the package is structured based on candidate needs. Compensation may include a combination of taxable wages, per diems (if eligible), and reimbursements.

Summary:The Interim Nurse Supervisor, Home Health Call Center provides day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for remote nursing staff, ensuring appropriate staffing, efficient workflows, quality performance, and continuity of patient care. This role serves as a primary resource for frontline nurses, manages real-time staffing and operational needs, monitors call center performance, coordinates patient care and operational escalations, and supports quality audits, call monitoring, and shift handoffs.
The Interim Nurse Supervisor also manages assigned direct reports, supports staff performance and problem-solving, and partners closely with Nurse Managers and Operations Leadership to promote patient safety, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and smooth department operations.
Shift Operations & Staffing Oversight:
Attend and facilitate shift huddles and handoffs.
Monitor daily staffing levels and ensure schedules are accurate.
Verify physician coverage for assigned shifts/KPHC MD Pools.
Coordinate pool and resource assignments to maintain operational coverage.
Manage staffing adjustments, sick calls, and operational needs as they arise.
Team Support & Communication:Serve as the primary operational resource for frontline nurses during the shift.
Maintain active communication through Microsoft Teams and email.
Respond promptly to clinical and operational questions.
Communicate important patient care, staffing, and operational updates to incoming shifts and leadership.
Real-Time Operational Monitoring:Monitor call center and workflow performance metrics throughout the shift.
Escalate operational issues according to established procedures.
Address and resolve patient care, staffing, operational, and technology issues in real time.
Coordinate communication with physicians, home health, hospice, skilled nursing facilities, pharmacy, and other partners when escalation is needed.
Ensure timely documentation and communication of significant events.
Quality & Performance Oversight:Complete daily quality audits and documentation reviews.
Conduct call monitoring and performance evaluations to support quality standards.
Administrative Support:Review and respond to shift-related communications.
Support fax, voicemail, and urgent message management.
Ensure timely completion of shift reports and handoff documentation.
Leadership Responsibilities:Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for remote nursing staff.
Promote service excellence, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
Support staff engagement, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
Partner with Nurse Managers and Operations Leadership to ensure smooth department operations.
Manage assigned direct reports.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) AND 2 years of experience in home health, hospice, SNF or directly related field.
