Restaurant Maintenance Technician supporting Chick‑fil‑A restaurants through a best‑in‑class service network.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Restaurant Maintenance Technician will provide preventative and reactive maintenance support across a defined local market, ensuring kitchen equipment and building systems meet performance standards through timely diagnostics, repair, and preventive service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install and remove commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Service commercial cooking equipment, refrigeration systems (incl. sealed systems), specialty food service equipment and base building HVAC systems.
  • Respond to operator service requests within established service level agreements.
  • Service equipment including Henny Penny, Follett, Lennox HVAC, Traulsen, Hobart mixers, Champion dishwashers, Garland Grill.
  • Communicate with manufacturers for diagnosis support and parts identification.
  • Consult with the Chick‑fil‑A Technical Assistance Team while onsite.
  • Install ordered parts accurately and professionally.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation including work orders, time reporting, receipts and truck stock inventory.
  • Maintain an organized service vehicle, tools and parts inventory.
  • Support on‑call emergency response during non‑standard hours.
  • Follow safe work practices and accident prevention procedures.
  • Participate in continuous OEM training and certification programs.
  • Engage with equipment partners, suppliers and vendors supporting the service network.
  • Maintain productivity levels in accordance with company standards.
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Technical trade school training and/or relevant hands‑on experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of related trade experience or equivalent.
  • Proven training or experience in one or more of the following:
    • Sealed refrigeration/HVAC systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Mechanical systems
    • Process controls
    • Hot side cooking equipment and/or mechanical power transmission
  • Experience servicing kitchen equipment, facilities or construction systems.
  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Safe driving record (MVR required).
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read diagrams and schematics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and mobile service applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Positive, service‑oriented attitude.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • 100% travel within a defined local market.
  • Limited overnight travel mostly for onboarding and training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work extended periods during emergency or priority situations (including overtime).
  • Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Climb ladders and stairs up to two stories (with ladder safety training); roof access ladders are provided.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking on even and uneven surfaces.
  • Frequent use of arms, wrists and hands to operate tools and machinery.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Competitive compensation with salary range $80,000–$110,000 per year.
