Job Description

• Promote safety by prioritizing it throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
• Repair and maintain mobile equipment: service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment that operates throughout the plant to maximize performance and limit downtime.
• Inspect equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors and perform necessary repairs.
• Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools safely throughout the shop and plant.
• Document and record information accurately on a daily and monthly basis regarding all mobile equipment, including entering and maintaining service reports in written or electronic form.
• Operate equipment by assisting in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant when necessary to ensure efficient production.
• Perform general physical activities, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Experience:
  
  Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of Best Practices:
  Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.
• Flexibility:
  Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands, work outside in all types of weather conditions, and tolerate loud noise exposure.

  Skills:
  
  Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Salary:
The salary is prescribed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates will be placed according to union contract salary scale at $49.72 per hour. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
