- Engineering Technician IV: $5,587 per month*
- Engineering Technician III: $5,008 per month*
- Engineering Technician II: $4,505 per month*
- Engineering Technician I: $4,131 per month*
We are seeking a candidate with a passion for construction and engineering, who enjoys working outdoors and has a strong understanding of technology to fill our role as an engineering technician/construction technician.
ResponsibilitiesAs a new team member, you will be responsible for conducting field inspections for all types of construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents. You will work with cutting‑edge equipment such as a Robotic Total Station GPS, drones, and computer-aided drafting software (Micro Station) to measure and calculate quantities, create reports, and prepare plan sheets for use on construction projects.
You will also perform tests on road and bridge building materials to ensure they meet NDDOT specifications. Additionally, you will assist project engineers with checking and organizing project final records and support district design work that requires the use of Micro Station. All necessary training and support will be provided.
- Engineering Technician IV – 6+ years of related experience; engineering or related college coursework/degree may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Engineering Technician III – 4+ years of related experience; engineering or related college coursework/degree may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Engineering Technician II – 2+ years of related experience; engineering or related college coursework/degree may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Engineering Technician I – High school diploma or GED required with basic understanding of job‑related concepts.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather and on uneven/slippery surfaces.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Valid North Dakota Class D driver's license.
- Material testing is preferred.
- Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) reflecting the required abilities (e.g., Horizontal Construction Engineer 12N, Geospatial Engineer 12Y, Technical Engineer 12T, Engineering 3E5X1) may substitute for the required work experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
