Instructional Aide

Responsibilities

• Assist a certified teacher in reinforcing instruction to individuals or small groups of students in a classroom setting.
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of lesson plans.
• Provide routine clerical support and perform related work as needed.
• Supervise hallway, recess, lunch room, buses, and car line.
• Cover duties for absent aides and teachers as needed.
• Prepare instructional materials as requested.
• Assist with preparation for school events.
• Assist students with classroom work as a group or individual.
• Organize and chaperone field trips and special events.
• Report any injuries to students and complete accident forms.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor, teacher, or principal.

Reports to:

Assigned Teacher/Building Principal

180 days/year

• Organization, ability to work with others.
• Physical/Mental: regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, and use a hand‑held device.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
• Reach with hands and arms, and ability to operate devices and other office equipment.
