School Psychologist
Porter County Education Services (PCES) seeks School Psychologists for year. PCES is a special education interlocal in Porter County, Indiana. We provide a variety of special education services to the seven school districts within the county. At PCES we believe in a team approach with parents, teachers, community stakeholders, and students to create the best Individualized Education Plan. PCES offers a full continuum of services to provide FAPE to our students including preschool programs, consult services, inclusive services, co-teaching, pull out services, self contained classrooms, homebound services, and the Special Education Learning Facility (SELF) located in Valparaiso.
School Psychologists support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development through assessment, consultation, intervention and collaboration with schools, teachers, parents and/or community stakeholders. As a part of the M-Team, School Psychs' primary purpose is ensuring students receive appropriate educational evaluations in compliance with IDOE regulations, IDEA, and other applicable state and federal laws.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive psycho educational evaluations assessing: both cognitive and academic skills behavioral and social-emotional concerns developmental functioning, etc.
- Administering, scoring and interpreting formal and informal assessments according to professional standards
- Integrating data from multiple sources (testing, observation, interviews) to accurately describe student and their needs
- Sharing case management duties
- Assisting with functional behavior assessments
- Conducting observations of students
- Writing evaluation reports, creating initial IEPs and attending case conferences
Qualification Requirements:
- Master's or Education Specialist degree in School Psychology
- Indiana licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience as a School Psychologist preferred
- Public school experience preferred
- Strong knowledge/understanding of IDEA and Article 7
- Effective written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy of information
- Ability to work with team, either as a leader or active participant
The position covers multiple school buildings/sites and requires use of personal vehicles to travel with mileage reimbursement.
Compensation - PCES Salary Schedule
