Instructional Support
- Reinforce lessons by reviewing material with small groups or one-on-one with students who need extra help.
- Assist in carrying out specialized plans, such as Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for special education students.
- Read to students, listen to them read, and guide the acquisition of social and language skills.
- Observe student progress and take anecdotal notes to inform the lead teacher's planning and assessments.
- Monitor student behavior, enforce class rules, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, including recess, lunch breaks, and field trips.
- Guide students through daily transitions and maintain routine schedules.
- Prepare and organize teaching aids, lesson materials, and classroom displays.
- Set up equipment, distribute materials, and tidy up the learning space at the end of the day.
