Job Summary

The Spanish Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality foreign language instruction while actively fostering a Christ-centered learning environment. The ideal candidate will blend linguistic expertise with a vibrant personal faith, guiding students to develop a biblical worldview of culture, global citizenship, and language acquisition.

1. Spiritual Leadership & Integration
  • Biblical Worldview: Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview naturally into the Spanish curriculum, exploring God’s heart for diversity, culture, and global community.
  • Discipleship: Model Christ-like behavior, character, and speech both inside and outside the classroom. Actively mentor and pray for students' spiritual growth.
2. Instructional Excellence
  • Curriculum Delivery: Teach all assigned levels of Spanish (ranging from introductory to advanced/AP, depending on school need), focusing on reading, writing, listening, and speaking proficiency.
  • Lesson Planning: Develop engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with national foreign language standards (e.g., ACTFL) and the school's specific scope and sequence.
  • Cultural Appreciation: Introduce students to the rich history, geography, and diverse traditions of Spanish-speaking countries, framing cultural studies through the lens of God's diverse creation.
  • Differentiated Learning: Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse student needs, learning styles, and language proficiencies.
3. Classroom Management & Communication
  • Environment: Maintain a positive, ordered, and respectful classroom environment that honors Christ and fosters a safe space for language risk-taking.
  • Assessment: Consistently assess student progress using various formative and summative metrics, maintaining transparent and up-to-date grades via the school’s Student Information System.
  • Partnership: Communicate proactively and professionally with parents, keeping them informed of their child's academic progress and behavioral growth, honoring the "Matthew 18" principle for conflict resolution.
