Kidstop Site Coordinator - Multiple Locations Salary Range: $13.00 to $15.00 Hourly Description Our programs currently run at the following locations:
Valparaiso Schools Central, Flint Lake, Heavilin, Memorial, Northview, Parkview, Thomas Jefferson Additional Schools Discovery Charter, Porter-Lakes, John Simatovich, Union Center, Kouts, Morgan This is a split:
Morning and after school (6:20am to 8:45am (varies by school), then 3pm (varies by school) to 6:30pmPosition Overview Part-time: 29 hours a week maximum
The Kidstop Site Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily supervision and operation of the Kidstop program at an assigned location. This role involves developing, planning, implementing, and tracking a variety of outcome-based programs that promote youth development, education, creativity, and physical activity. The Site Assistant serves as a mentor and positive role model, fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where members are encouraged to learn, participate, and succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the creation, planning, implementation, and evaluation of outcome-based programs and activities.
Actively encourage member participation in all programs, events, and activities.
Administer and track grant-funded programs, ensuring all required documentation and reporting are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment focused on the well-being and development of all members.
Provide guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback to members while recognizing individual achievements and accomplishments.
Serve as a tutor and academic support resource by assisting members with homework and school assignments.
Lead and facilitate activities focused on education, arts and crafts, recreation, and physical fitness.
Assist the Coordinator in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and proper operation of the facility and program equipment.
Address behavioral concerns in a positive and respectful manner that promotes self-esteem and personal growth, while documenting incidents and achievements and communicating them appropriately.
Communicate program successes, challenges, innovative ideas, and recommended changes to the Director to ensure member needs are effectively met.
Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and agency events.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support program operations and organizational goals.
Grant & Program Compliance Administer, track, and document all grant-funded programs to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
Maintain accurate and timely records, including attendance, participation data, assessments, and required grant paperwork.
Ensure all documentation is completed thoroughly and submitted by required deadlines.
Monitor program outcomes and assist in reporting data to demonstrate impact and effectiveness.
Knowledge/
Skills Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Some college education preferred
Previous experience working with youth, particularly elementary school age Working knowledge of youth development as well as experience with Boys & Girls Clubs preferred
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
Capable of organizing and supervising members in a safe environment
Ability to communicate effectively with youth, parents, staff, volunteers and general public
Facilitate quality programs for youth
Strong organization and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize
Able to work with minimal supervision at a remote site location while maintaining a positive, calm demeanor
Must possess or have the ability to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid Ability to pass a criminal history background check.
Ability to satisfactorily pass a drug screen for all federally illegal substances.
Must be eligible to work in the US.
