Senior Civil Engineer, Valparaiso, IN

Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for leading and managing engineering projects from concept to completion, including design and supervising the work of other engineers. This role serves as the technical leader for a project within the company.

• Directs and manages the project design team and coordinates schedules with project managers and supervisors to ensure deadlines are met.
• Assists in the preparation of proposals or project scope including feasibility cost estimates.
• Reviews project work at appropriate milestones and follows the quality control plan.
• Coordinates and establishes relationships with permitting agencies.
• Directs and reviews permit applications, specifications, bid documents, cost estimates, and report writing.
• Coordinates with Geotech or other technical subs and communicates with contractors as needed.
• Determines team roles for construction administration and performs spot field checks during construction.
• Coordinates continuing education opportunities for technical staff.
• Mentors and trains junior staff.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Indiana.
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Experience in a project engineer role for municipal, roadway design, sanitary sewers, water mains, storm sewers, trails, traffic signals, or site design for residential, commercial, educational, and industrial projects is preferred.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently or with a team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Suite programs.
