CNA / HHA – Hospice Inpatient Care CenterVNA Hospice NWI
Location: Valparaiso Indiana
Job Types: Full-Time and Part-Time
Shifts Available: Days, Evenings, and Midnights
VNA Hospice NWI is seeking compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our team at our 6-bed inpatient hospice care center. This role provides the opportunity to deliver hands‑on care and comfort to patients with life-limiting illnesses while supporting families during an important stage of life.
We are currently hiring for full-time and part-time positions on day, evening, and midnight shifts

The CNA/HHA provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, focusing on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. The ideal candidate is compassionate, patient-centered, and committed to delivering exceptional end‑of‑life care in a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide personal care while promoting patient dignity and comfort.
- Assist with ambulation, transfers, and repositioning.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
- Assist with meal setup and feeding as needed.
- Document care provided according to agency policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to ensure excellent patient care.
Requirements
Qualifications CNA Candidates:- Current Indiana Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hospice, long-term care, hospital, or home care experience preferred.
- Completion of a State‑approved Home Health Aide training program and certification.
- Previous healthcare, hospice, or caregiving experience preferred.
- Compassionate and caring attitude toward patients and families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity.
