Assistant Deli Manager Trainee

Strack & Van Til is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager Trainee to support our busy deli department. In this hands-on role, you'll learn to oversee daily deli operations, product quality, and food safety while delivering friendly, neighborhood-style service. Assist with scheduling, ordering, inventory, and merchandising fresh meats, cheeses, and prepared foods. Train and guide team members, ensure cleanliness and compliance with health regulations, and help drive sales through appealing displays.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day deli operations and customer service
• Assist with scheduling, staffing, and training deli team members
• Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality
• Monitor inventory, place orders, and reduce shrink
• Set up and maintain attractive product displays and signage
• Support execution of promotions and sales initiatives
• Ensure equipment and work areas are clean and functioning
• Handle customer questions, complaints, and special requests
• Follow company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Learn and apply basic leadership and store operations skills
