Paraprofessional

• Monitor students in the classroom, lunch room, bathroom area, hallways, and during other break times
• Assist certified teachers as needed within the classroom
• Prepare curriculum materials and activities for instruction
• Assist teachers with maintaining a safe/clean classroom
• Provide students with dyslexia and other content area intervention either one on one or in small group settings as directed by principal.
• Maintain accurate student records of interventions
• Assist with other classes as directed by principal/assistant principal
• Other duties as directed by principal
• Requires daily in-district travel
• Position is a one year contract for the  school year only.

• High school diploma or GED
• Passing score on Paraprofessional assessment at hire or 60 college hours
• Participate in required district provided dyslexia tutor training
• Clean background check

• Be able to stand/sit for the majority of the school day
• Be able to walk short distances to escort students between classrooms and activities
• Be able to sit, stand, lean, reach, bend, lift and squat to assist students as needed
• Be able to walk on uneven surfaces
• Be able to walk up and down stairs
• Be outside in all weather conditions for assigned duty

Contract:

179 days is a full contract for this position. Contract will be prorated based on days worked. Location for this position will be split between Butterfield Trail Middle School and Thicksten Center for Learning (ALE).
