Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist certified Early Childhood Special Education teachers with teaching as directed
- Monitor students in the classroom, lunch room, bathroom area, hallways, and during recess time
- Assist with data collecting of behaviors
- Prepare curriculum materials and activities for instruction
- Help with maintaining a safe/clean classroom
- Work one on one with students when needed
- Change diapers/training pants as needed
- Assist with toilet training per IEP
- Assist student with feeding as needed
- Assist with life/functional skills
- Assist with medically fragile students within medical guidelines
- Assist with other classes as directed by supervisor and/or principal
- Assist with other clerical tasks as directed by supervisor
- Conduct screeners for early childhood special education as directed by supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Clean background check
- Pass Paraprofessional Assessment at hire or have 60 college hours
- Participate in required Paraprofessional module trainings provided by ADE
Physical requirements*
- Be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Be able to stand the majority of the school day
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, lift, carry and squat to assist students as needed
- Be able to walk short distances to escort students between classrooms
- Be able to walk on uneven surfaces (playground)
- Be able to run/chase a student that runs from the classroom, line, etc
- Be outside in all weather conditions for assigned duty. This includes recess, before school drop offs and after school pick- ups

Reports to: Principal/Special Education Director
Contract: 179 days is a full contract this position. 26-27 contract will be prorated based on days worked.

Salary: $28,339.30 to $36,644.90 Per Year
