Package Design Engineer

Summary

The Package Design Engineer will design packaging for the company’s Clients finished products, ensuring adequate protection of the product and accurate and attractive display for marketing purposes. Package Design Engineer will help the team identify the best practices for our overall supply chain Packaging Operation and help us implement process improvements.

• Be primarily responsible for efficiently packaging for the company’s Clients finished products.
• Collaborates with staff from marketing, manufacturing, graphics, and shipping departments to optimize package design.
• Oversees the design of the finished product packaging, emphasizing marketability and cost efficiency.
• Tests packaging systems and components for new and existing products.
• Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to develop point-of-sale displays for products and packaging.
• Researches and introduces prototype packaging using materials such as folding cartons, plastics, and corrugated shipping containers.
• Drafts specifications for new packing materials that will adequately protect finished products.
• Performs other duties as required.

This is a full‑time position. Hours of work Monday through Friday, time of day depends on shift, 8 hours per day unless otherwise stated, 40 hours per week. No travel is required. This position requires the employee to work on‑site at the facility they are assigned to.

Required:

• Extensive knowledge of packaging material and design.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient with computer‑assisted design (CAD) software.
• Acute attention to detail; safety minded/oriented.
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or related field required.

Preferred: Five years of experience in package design.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

• Exposure to outside elements in open air warehouse.
• May have exposure to high decibel levels from running equipment.
