To ensure that all products are cut and trimmed into specified weight and size according to product specification, in a manner which complies with company safety procedures, customer and USDA requirements.

• Use knives to cut and trim chicken pieces to meet company standards.
• Read and use scales for sizing products.
• Cut and trim product to specified pounds per hour.
• Monitor product code, weight, and shape requirements.
• Ensure table and scale are in proper working order; notify management if equipment and table are not in working order.
• Work on a moving conveyor belt using both hands; spread or style product by hand on the belt.
• Perform multiple types of packing and weighing.
• Pull bones from product; inspect, grade and remove product that does not meet standards.
• Participate as a member of the team: develop, communicate and implement team concepts, programs and policies; coordinate work to ensure best practices; attend appropriate team meetings; foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues; quickly identify areas lacking cohesiveness, bring to team leader’s attention, and work with the team to resolve issues and achieve synergy.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems, including quality, security, office environment, company policies, and LEAN; communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Preference for poultry or food processing organization.

  Must be able to read and understand scale and product numbers.

  Must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.

• Use knives throughout entire shift.
• Stand for entire shift.
• Extend arms, walk while carrying scale, scissors, bags, or product.
• Move, push or pull up to 55 pounds from table to scales at waist level.
• Bend, stoop, walk, stand and work in a cold, wet, noisy, dusty environment for entire shift; may involve repetitive motion and rotating through cold and hot areas of the plant.
