Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Role Purpose
The maintenance technician role should be capable of performing all routine and most non‑routine equipment, building and ground maintenance work, overseeing and aiding contractors, and effectively communicating with other plant personnel.
Main Responsibilities- Understand and adhere to corporate policies and procedures
- Perform welding, plumbing, pipe fitting, metal fabrication, equipment troubleshooting, and installation of equipment
- Perform basic electrical testing and troubleshooting of motor starters, drives, controls, etc.
- Wear PPE and other safety equipment
- Apply technical knowledge of pumps, gear boxes, hydraulics, and other equipment
- Read blueprints, P&’s, and other drawings
- Assist and perform troubleshooting/repairs to multiple types of equipment
- Follow procedures and SOP’s guidelines
- Interface with plant personnel, contractors, and vendors
- Perform site safety, GMP conditions, and safety concerns and observations
- Use hand, air, and power tools
- Lift and maneuver 50 pounds without mechanical assistance
- Provide off‑shift coverage and call‑ins
- Use Microsoft applications for data entry/document creation
- Understanding of basic electricity (qualified worker)
- Understanding of pumps, compressors, blowers, etc.
- Understanding of conveyors and power transmission equipment
- Mobile equipment training – forklift
- Permit systems
- Annual propylene training
- Fire safety and prevention training
- Working at heights training
- LTT (Lock, tag, try) training
- Hotworks training
- Confined space training
- Combustible dust training
- Annual SPCC training
- SWPPP training
- PSM overview training
- Hot liquids training
- Lubrication (grease and oils) training
- Starting pay of $29.04/hour
