Creative Design Concepts, Inc. is a construction company that specializes in concrete, barrier wall, permanent roadway signage, and guardrail installation. We are licensed in five states:
Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, and Virginia. Our main office is located in Van Buren, Arkansas, with additional locations in Little Rock, AR and Manassas, VA. Recognized in the state of Arkansas since 2017, the majority of our work involves sub-contracting on Federal projects. However, we are also involved in numerous State and private projects. CDC is fully bonded and insured and prides itself on providing quality work in a timely manner within budget.

The Concrete, Barrier Wall, and Guide Signs Laborers all perform a variety of tasks under the close supervision of higher-level employees including ditch paving, flatwork, retaining walls, overhead sign installation, and barrier walls. These tasks may include assisting with the extra workload, covering absences and vacations, and supplementing crews to meet unusual changes in the production area or the weather.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a laborer position is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A clear driving record is required.
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and adhere to subjected to random tests for the duration of employment is required.
  • A valid CDL driver's license and ability to be covered under the Company's automobile insurance is required.
  • Must be registered and clear in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and requirements are dependent upon the position and are subject to change. Below is a list of job duties specific to each position.

CONCRETE LABORER

  • Construct wooden and/or metal forms.
  • Dig the concrete footers.
  • Assist in pouring concrete.
  • Finish concrete as needed.
  • Cut and remove concrete when existing concrete needs to be replaced.
  • Remove the forms that hold the concrete, when necessary.
  • Spread, level, and smooth concrete using a rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
  • Tie and cut rebar to complete work assignments.
  • Drive posts.
  • Clean up the job site at the end of a project or at the end of the day.
  • Haul off debris from the job site to desired locations.
  • Drive company trucks as needed.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary when performing work duties.
  • Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of awareness/alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

GUIDE SIGN LABORER

  • Construct wooden and/or metal forms.
  • Dig the concrete footers.
  • Assist in pouring concrete.
  • Finish concrete as needed.
  • Cut and remove concrete when existing concrete needs to be replaced.
  • Remove the forms that hold the concrete, when necessary.
  • Tie and cut rebar to complete work assignments.
  • Drive posts.
  • Climb structures.
  • Install/Remove signs.
  • Install/Remove sign structures.
  • Clean up the job site at the end of a project or at the end of the day.
  • Haul off debris from the job site to desired locations.
  • Drive company trucks as needed.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary when performing work duties.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of awareness/alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

BARRIER WALL LABORER

  • Assist in laying out string line.
  • Installing delineators.
