Freezer Associate - D-shift

Purpose of the Position

Transfer product into and out of storage areas, pick product for customer orders, and load product to trailers.

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before they adversely affect the customer.
• Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.
• Pull orders accurately as assigned.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location.
• Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
• Enter data into WMS computer systems.

Participates as a member of the Team; engages in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members; attends appropriate team meetings; fosters strong cohesiveness; identifies areas lacking cohesion, brings them to the team leader, works collaboratively to resolve issues and actively seeks ways to reinforce actions needed to achieve synergy throughout the organization.

Familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in supporting these systems, including communicating concerns and improvement ideas.

Required to sit, stand, and walk regularly; able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; able to walk in high-traffic areas.

Will use freezer suit, composite/steel toe boots, and other protective equipment as needed or required.

• 1-2 years warehouse experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Working knowledge of WMS systems.

• 1 year related warehouse/freezer experience or 1 year experience with powered lift equipment.
