Administrative Assistant

Do you love bringing people together, supporting local businesses, and making a meaningful impact in your community? Main Street Van Wert is seeking an organized, creative, and community-minded Administrative Assistant to help advance our mission of fostering growth, vibrancy, and economic development in Historic Downtown Van Wert.

This part-time position (20 hours per week) offers the opportunity to work alongside passionate business owners, community leaders, volunteers, and residents while helping create the events, programs, and initiatives that make downtown Van Wert a thriving destination.

As a key member of our team, you’ll assist with event planning and promotion, social media management, fundraising support, board communications, website administration, and day‑to‑day organizational operations. You’ll play an important role in preserving and promoting the unique character of our historic downtown while helping bring new ideas and opportunities to life.

We’re looking for someone who is self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and excited about community engagement. Experience in marketing, event planning, public relations, administration, or finance is valuable, but most importantly, we’re seeking a team player who believes in the power of strong communities and local businesses.

Experience
  • 1+ year(s) education/experience in one of the following areas: marketing, finance, public relations, event planning, administrative
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks, Jotform, Canva, Zeffy, and other computer systems preferred
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with individuals/groups
  • Have an appreciation and understanding of community involvement
  • Understands they represent the organization on and off the clock
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
