Summary

MSVW Administrative Assistant

Main Street Van Wert Description

The mission of MSVW is to stimulate growth and development in historic downtown Van Wert. This position is hired by and reports to the Executive Director.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Part Time Administrative Assistant (20 hours)
$16-18 Pay Based on Experience

  • Assist and coordinate downtown promotional events/activities through the planning, design and implementation stages.

  • Build and maintain a working relationship with the board of directors, business owners, organizations, and the public, etc.

  • Prepare reports for Heritage Ohio, Main Street America, Board of Directors, and Executive Director.

  • Help with historic preservation education and projects for downtown.

  • Assist the Executive Director in meeting organizational goals.

  • Manage administrative aspects including, but not limited to, record keeping, accounting, purchasing, and all other office activities.

  • Assist in fundraising that is performed by the Executive Director.

  • Attend training sessions provided by Heritage Ohio, Main Street America and Main Street Van Wert.

  • Responsible for social media management, website administration, and preparation of board meeting agendas and supporting materials.

  • Attend monthly board meetings and oversee committees within the board.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ year(s) education/experience in at least one of the following areas: marketing, finance, public relations, event planning, administrative.

  • High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of Quickbooks, Jotform, Canva, Zeffy, and other computer systems preferred.

  • Able to work independently.

  • Have an ability to communicate effectively with both individuals and groups.

  • Have an appreciation and understanding of community involvement.

  • Understands that they represent the organization on and off the clock.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

You will be expected to represent the Main Street organization at functions, meetings, events, and programs. Primarily desk and office work related to event planning and coordination. Position may require light lifting of materials and supplies up to 50 pounds, along with occasional standing, walking, and setup assistance during events.
