Seeking a team-oriented, highly motivated, and experienced CAD Designer. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working specifically on commercial projects. Potential candidate will work on projects that are in excess of a million dollars. Each candidate must demonstrate the ability to complete all aspects of assembling a working drawing package, including, but not limited to, floor plans, exterior elevations, wall sections, building sections, details, and interior elevations.
The CAD Designer will use architectural design software (CAD) to prepare architectural and design documents from rough sketches or from general architectural and design information (verbal instructions and notes) to create detailed drawings for buildings and structures.
- Considers factors such as budget, schedule and project type to provide suitable design recommendations.
- Independently creates drawings for large/complex projects from design intent provided.
- Uses CAD software to create full-scale and detailed designs of buildings and interiors from rough drawings, including foundations, floor plans, exterior elevations, wall sections, building sections, details, and interior elevations, and organizes structural, electrical, and mechanical designs.
- Adapts and remodels designs based on feedback from clients.
- Studies building codes and regulations and determines how they will affect architectural designs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Extensive knowledge of CAD software and other architectural drafting tools (e.g., Autocad, Sketchup, and Microsoft Office).
- Ability to visualize concepts and render usable working documents.
- Ability to complete and assemble an entire working drawing package.
- Ability to work within a team environment with schedules and deadlines.
- Strong skills in communication and project coordination with consultants.
- Knowledge of materials, design standards, building codes, and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineer’s drawings.
- Experience in field measuring and creating as‑built drawings.
- Experience in emailing and uploading drawings.
- Associate’s degree in Drafting preferred.
- Three‑five years of related experience required.
