Summary of ResponsibilitiesThe Industrial Engineer will drive process and quality improvements throughout the production operations. This role will collaborate with design engineering, production, quality assurance, and subject matter experts to determine best practices, process documentation, training, and quality focused improvements. The Industrial Engineer will facilitate and lead dynamic team‑driven projects to build capable and robust products and processes while assisting in the development of a highly skilled and empowered workforce.
Summaryof Activities
- Identify, develop and implement robust safety, quality and process improvements
- Develop and implement error‑proofing techniques, devices and process controls
- Proactively support the implementation of quality management system improvements
- Identify, communicate and eliminate bottlenecks to maximize production capacities
- Develop process documentation including one‑point lessons, visual aids, work instructions and training
- Coordinate and facilitate process improvements with manufacturing leadership and personnel
- Support successful launch of new products, processes, materials and process improvements
- Collect, interpret and act upon data from technical and manufacturing sources
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Promote and drive collaboration and teamwork to achieve objectives
- Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred, or other relevant degree and/or experience
- Two or more years of work experience in a manufacturing environment functioning as an engineer, including experience as a co‑op and/or intern
- Knowledge and application of Continuous Improvement tools, i.e. Lean, PDCA, Six Sigma and TOC
- Knowledgeable in computer skills (CAD systems, Microsoft software, Internet and email)
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and work in a cross‑functional and collaborative team environment
- Self‑motivated, hands‑on individual able to quickly learn and apply new skills
- Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
