Mechanical Engineer
- Lead the mechanical design of custom automation systems, robotics, and machinery projects.
- Develop machine concepts, 3D CAD models, drawings, and component selections.
- Own projects from concept through build, FAT, and startup support.
- Drive design reviews to ensure safety, manufacturability, performance, and reliability.
- Manage technical risks, design tradeoffs, and support project planning/estimating.
- Collaborate with controls, electrical, manufacturing, and project teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
Location: Van Wert, OH
Salary: $140,000
Key Responsibilities- Lead the mechanical design of custom automation systems, robotics, and machinery projects.
- Develop machine concepts, 3D CAD models, drawings, and component selections.
- Own projects from concept through build, FAT, and startup support.
- Drive design reviews to ensure safety, manufacturability, performance, and reliability.
- Manage technical risks, design tradeoffs, and support project planning/estimating.
- Collaborate with controls, electrical, manufacturing, and project teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience designing custom automation equipment or complex machinery.
- Experience owning full machine designs from concept through commissioning.
- Strong background in machine architecture, system integration, and mechanical design.
- Advanced CAD proficiency and experience with PLM/configuration control.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, customer interactions, and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 10-25% as needed.
